Stop 'Buying AI'. It Doesn't Work.
Olaf Lemmens, Founder NinA AI Agency · November 20, 2025 · 5 min read

This week marks another milestone for NinA AI Agency. We've hired a new Sales Development Rep (SDR)! Super excited about it.
And that got me thinking. Because how on earth do you 'sell' AI?
The honest answer? You don't.
I see it go wrong every day. Companies try to sell AI tools. "Do you want a chatbot?" "Do you need an AI Agent?" "Shall I build an N8N workflow for you?"
9 out of 10 clients respond with: "Uh... no idea? You're the expert."
And that's exactly where the core lies.
A company doesn't want a tool. A company wants a solution.
A company doesn't want a chatbot. It wants less pressure on customer service and higher customer satisfaction. A company doesn't want an SQL database connected to an LLM. It wants those 30 years of unstructured data to finally deliver value and answer questions.
That 'selling' of tools is the old world. The new world revolves around AI Consultancy Selling.
That's why I don't have a standard sales pitch. It's puzzling together. (Super inconvenient when you're onboarding someone by the way... it's all about flight hours)
It's what I love doing most. Because I dive into AI every day, I see the patterns. The use cases that cause friction everywhere.
And because I know what's technically possible (and what's not), I can translate a "business pain" into a concrete, technical solution.
What are YOU running into?
I'm curious where the real pain is for you. What do you recognize most?
- Our internal data/knowledge is a 'black box'. (We can't find anything).
- Customer service is constantly overwhelmed. (Firefighting).
- Too many manual, repetitive tasks. (Copy-paste work).
- We have an idea for an 'AI app', but 0 idea where to start.
Chances are you're nodding 'yes' to at least one of these.
Look, if a client mentions option 1 ("internal data is a black box"), I'm not going to sell an 'AI tool'. Then I'm going to talk about data structure. About setting up a (often SQL) database, unlocking those 30 years of info, and only then about the AI layer that makes it queryable.
If a client mentions option 2 ("customer service overwhelmed"), the solution is rarely 'a chatbot'. The solution is a human-in-the-loop automation (often with N8N) that filters 80% of simple questions, so the expensive human team can focus on the 20% complex problems.
That's AI Consultancy Selling. It's distilling the 'use case'. It's listening. And only then building.
The questions an SDR asks at our company
Where is the real pain? And what AI puzzle can we solve for that?
Have a great week!
